Pro-Ject’s RPM 3 Carbon turntable uses design elements unheard-of in its class. The low-resonance chassis holds an inverted platter bearing with ceramic ball for a reduced rumble. The outboard 15V AC motor is smoothly driven using an ultra-precise AC generator with DC power supply for further enhanced speed stability. The 10″ S-shaped tonearm tube is made from carbon fiber, aluminum and a resin damping compound. Using a complex 3-step process with heat treatment and 100bar pressure, armtube rigidity is enhanced and internal resonance is reduced to a minimum making the tonearm a perfect carrier for a huge variety of phono cartridges. RPM 3 Carbon features a magnetic anti-skating mechanism and TPE-damped counterweight. All ingredients add up to a miracle of sound at a price that’s a no-brainer.
